Foster carers are the vital support systems for the vulnerable in our community. It’s a role that involves incredible joy and incredible sacrifice.
Carers need support from people who know what it’s like.
Hope for Foster Carers is a confidential friendship, support and education group for foster carers in 2508 and further afield. The group is independently run, with guest speakers who provide relevant and up to date information to assist carers to navigate the complexity of foster caring.
The bi-monthly meetings also allow time for open and respectful discussion amongst carers, whilst children are cared for at the cost of a gold-coin donation. All discussion is confidential and carers are welcomed and heard without judgement. Hope for Foster Carers is a place where we can laugh together, cry together and learn together. It offers the kind of support that is crucial in reducing the risk of placement breakdowns.
Meetings are held at Hope 2508, 3/23 Cemetery Road, Helensburgh from 10:30am – 12:30pm.
