Iris Rio Australian Mission School Jan 1-6 2023

Iris Ministries is providing the first ever Iris Rio Mission School in Sydney, Australia from January 1st to 6th at The Tops Conference Centre in Stanwell Tops, with a two-day outreach mission to Port Kembla.

Iris Ministries was founded by Heidi and Rolland Baker and is a global Christian NGO committed to expressing a living and tangible response to those commandments that Jesus called greatest: “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength,” and “Love your neighbour as yourself.” More than 1,500 volunteers serve in missions at Iris bases every year globally.

Pastor Fred and Fernando Barros lead the Iris Global School – River of God, in Rio De Janeiro, which has trained Iris missionaries from over 54 countries. Fred and Fernanda are senior leaders in Iris ministries and have ministered alongside Heidi and Rolland Baker in Mozambique, Rio and many other nations. There will be recorded teaching for the missionary school from Heidi Baker and other Iris Missionaries will be involved in the training.

Students can either live-in (recommended, for extra bonding and time together!) or visit for the day. For both live-in students and day only students, all meals are provided. Live-in students will need to bring their own bedding, otherwise they can pay a small linen surcharge for bedding to be provided.

The school will begin on Sunday January 1st at 2pm, with welcome activities before the first evening session at 8pm. The school will be held at The Tops Conference Centre from January 1-5, concluding with an overnight outreach mission to Port Kembla from the afternoon of Thursday 5th, and into Friday 6th of January.

Staff and students will be sleeping out amongst the needy in Port Kembla on the evening of the 5th of January, during which there will be extended outreach and ministry (stopping for the one!). The sleep out will involve camping out under the stars in a council approved park in the Port Kembla area, with the support of the local authorities. If you would like us to arrange your tent, sleeping bag and sleeping mate, this can be arranged for a small additional cost of $49.

The event is being hosted by Hope Church 2508, Australia (Australian Christian Churches) who run an outreach to Port Kembla. To find out more or with any questions, please email [email protected].

Registration has been extended until the 23rd of December 2022.

You can register by either paying the full registration amount or by paying a non-refundable deposit. If you have paid a deposit, the balance of your ticket price payment will be due by December 23rd 2022.

The event is authorised by Iris Ministries as an Iris Global Rio Mission School. The Iris Global School – River of God takes places after from 12 January to 4th of February in Rio De Janeiro, for full information on that school visit https://www.irisglobal.org/missions/schools/RG13
