Why have a community kitchen?
We know life is not always easy. Unexpected expenses can pop up, circumstances can change and at times our financial situation can feel overwhelming. For people living on a low income, every week can be a struggle. Hope Community Kitchen is a confidential free dinner service that helps make life a little easier for local individuals doing it tough.
It is our intention for Hope Kitchen to provide:
A welcoming and safe place for social interaction
Reduce social isolation by promoting social connections
Provide a regular nutritious meal
Provide free take home food such as fruit, vegetables and bread
Improve self-esteem and confidence
Encouraging mutual care and concern for the lonely and isolated
Changing lives through birthday celebrations
It is our desire to put a smile on the face of people living in a homeless or transitional living circumstance. Once a month we celebrate the birthdays of those who may not have family or friends in there life. We believe that celebrating a birthday can change lives and create a joyful community.
