Why have a community kitchen?
We know life is not always easy. Unexpected expenses can pop up, circumstances can change and at times our financial situation can feel overwhelming. For people living on a low income, every week can be a struggle. Hope Community Kitchen is a confidential free dinner service that helps make life a little easier for local individuals doing it tough.
Social outcomes
It is our intention for Hope Kitchen to provide:
- A welcoming and safe place for social interaction
- Reduce social isolation by promoting social connections
- Provide a regular nutritious meal
- Provide free take home food such as fruit, vegetables and bread
- Improve self-esteem and confidence
- Encouraging mutual care and concern for the lonely and isolated
- Celebrate life
Changing lives through birthday celebrations
It is our desire to put a smile on the face of people living in a homeless or transitional living circumstance. Once a month we celebrate the birthdays of those who may not have family or friends in there life. We believe that celebrating a birthday can change lives and create a joyful community.
